Vintage single tension marching snare drum 14" x 10" -- restored

Vintage marching snare drum
Here is a 14” x 10” marching snare drum that has been restored.
The heads and snares are new and the shell has been sanded and varnished. But i
t's not in new condition for three reasons: 1) the tension rods have not been fully cleaned and re-plated, 2)
the original snare strainer was replaced by a more modern one, and 3)
the bottom hoop was broken and repaired at some point during the drum's life. The repair was done well. See photos #7-9.
The drum is single tension -- you use a standard drum key (not included) to tune from the top which controls tension for both heads.
The drum was likely used in July 4
th
parades and other events by the Cairo Temple for many years in Rutland, Vermont.
However...
I actually have a second drum that is unrestored. It is for sale in another of our listings. The unrestored drum has worn heads, old snares and it also has the newer strainer that replaced the original one -- see photo #10. Photo #11 shows the two drums side-by-side. So you can

ut you can save money by restoring the unrestored drum.
