The BMW Motorrad communication system is mechanically specially tailored to the BMW Motorrad System Helmet 6. The control module with the three control buttons is shaped so that it optimally adapts to the contour of the new BMW Motorrad helmet. Similar to the helmet shell, it is available in two sizes. Of course, all other components such as microphone holder and strain relief also correspond to the geometry of the BMW Motorrad system helmet 6, so that the new communication system can be installed easily and without problems. NiMH rechargeable batteries are responsible for the energy supply of the system and allow a continuous operating time of ten to twelve hours.
The BMW Motorrad communication system is primarily designed for communication between rider and front passenger. Nevertheless, the entertainment from motorcycle to motorcycle is possible with certain restrictions. Depending on the driving situation, the system can bridge distances of between 30 and 100 meters with a direct line of sight. That is quite sufficient in many driving situations. However, this function depends on the environmental conditions.
